MindMed has now officially expanded into a new area with its mobile health management devices. The company launched its ADHD Treatment app, an iOS application that helps patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) manage their condition by increasing their concentration, attention and focus.

“While similar digital treatment options exist, they can cost in excess of $500 and are exclusive to desktops and laptops,” said co-founder Eytan Shleizer, who himself had been diagnosed with ADHD. “Although they’re effective, we wanted to make this technology accessible to everyone. That’s why we decided to go mobile and why we’re charging only a fraction of the price.”

The ADHD Treatment app uses scientifically designed exercises that train specific core cognitive skills, such as patience and impulse control, that are underdeveloped in ADHD patients.

Both children and adults can make use of the app, which is based on clinical technology proven to diminish typical symptoms of the disorder. Exercises are broken down into one- to two minute segments, allowing patients to effectively use the technology at home and elsewhere.

The ADHD Treatment app can be downloaded for iOS for $9.99 USD.
